Merry Liftmas is here!
December is upon us, and that means it’s time for LIFTMAS!!
What is Liftmas, you ask?….Well, it’s the start of our new December tradition!!
This month’s programming will be dedicated to taking advantage of the extra holiday calories we typically end up consuming this time of year. From a strength perspective, we’ll be focusing on bench press and snatch. We’ll also be doing push-ups EVERY DAY! Why? Because they’re one of those things that we constantly hear people say they wish they could do more of, but yet we rarely take the time to improve on the strength required to do so. So now is the time 🙂
We’ll also be including some skill and strength items that often get neglected in CrossFit programming, so be on the lookout for some fun things to make an appearance.
This will be a relatively short 4-week cycle, and we know people get super busy around this time of year, so let’s just have some fun with Liftmas and do our very best not to feel guilty about holiday indulgences 🙂
Holiday Extravaganza – December 15th
Just a reminder that our holiday party is scheduled for December 15th at 7 pm at the gym! It will be potluck style – we’ll provide the drinks; you guys provide the delicious food! Potluck signups are on the window by the check-in kiosk at the gym, so please add your name and let us know what you’ll be bringing. We’ll make sure to have some extension cords and power strips available in case you’d like to bring something in a crockpot. (We’ll also provide the flatware, so no need to bring that – although serving utensils for your dish may come in handy!)
Let us know if you’d like to see any particular activities at the party. Otherwise, just come in your favorite festive attire to enjoy the general holiday merriment! And feel free to bring your family and significant others!
Goal Setting for the New Year
With 2019 quickly approaching, now is a great time to start thinking about the fitness goals you’d like to reach in the new year. Whether your goals are attendance related, strength related, skill related or beyond, we are here to support you in reaching them! Setting goals that are specific, measurable and attainable is the perfect formula for success, so start brainstorming now!
In the coming weeks, we’ll be asking you to share your goals with us so we can help keep you accountable and guide you towards hitting those milestones. We’ll also be discussing opportunities for one-on-one skill sessions to help move you in the right direction. Stay tuned for more details and be prepared to make 2019 your best year in fitness yet!
Don’t forget to refer your friends!
Our membership rates will be increasing in January for new incoming members, so if you’ve got friends or family who have been curious about getting started on their CrossFit journey, December is the perfect month for them to start at SFM so they can get locked into our current rates.
And remember, if you refer someone, you and your referral will each get $100 off a month of membership so everybody wins!
